Fully custom vs. semi-custom vs. stock
Cabinets come in three grades, and the words get blurred on purpose. Stock cabinets come in fixed sizes and finishes — the fastest and cheapest, but they force your kitchen to fit their dimensions, with filler strips where the math doesn't work out. Semi-custom starts from a manufacturer's line and lets you change some sizes, doors, and finishes within their catalog — better, but the "custom" part stops where their options do.
Fully custom — what we build — has no catalog. Any width to the eighth of an inch, any height including floor-to-ceiling, any species, any finish, any interior fitting. If your range wall is 143 inches, your cabinets are built for 143 inches. We're a custom shop, so we'll always tell you when semi-custom or refacing your existing boxes is the smarter spend. But when the layout is unusual, the ceilings are tall, or the finish has to be exact, full custom is the only grade that gets there without compromise.

Framed vs. frameless (European) construction
There are two ways to build a cabinet box, and the right one depends on the look you're after. Framed cabinets have a face frame — a rim of solid wood around the box front. It's the traditional American build, a natural fit for Shaker doors, transitional kitchens, and the mid-century homes across Torrance. It reads warm and classic.
Frameless (European) cabinets skip the face frame; the doors mount straight to the box. You get slightly more interior space, wider drawers, and the clean, seamless, gap-free front that modern and coastal-contemporary kitchens are built on — the look behind most slab-door and full-height designs in Manhattan Beach and on the Peninsula. We build both, and we'll often mix them in one kitchen — framed perimeter, frameless island, or the reverse — because your kitchen doesn't have to pick a lane.

Plywood boxes, not particleboard.
Furniture-grade multi-ply that holds screws, shrugs off a leak under the sink, and stays square — it matters double in the salt air near the water.
